Adam’s Eden Fly Fishing School
Two-day School
The two day school is designed to give individuals an introduction to the basics of fly fishing as well as ample on-the-water fishing time. Over the course of two days, we will cover all of the topics we touched on during the one day school as well as several others focusing on moving water techniques. Additional topics will include:
Dead Drifting and Mending
Dry fly Techniques
Nymphing Techniques
Streamer Fishing Techniques
Stream Sampling and Invertebrate ID
The second day of the school will also be approximately 4 hours in length. Here is a rough itinerary for an 8AM start:
8:00-8:45 - Equipment setup and casting warm up
- Stripping line
- Shooting line
- Hulling
9:00-9:45 – Stream Ecology, Seining, Invertebrate Identification
- walk to the stream
- overview of stream ecology
- Seining and Sampling
- Relating what we find to what fly we choose
9:45-10:30 – Moving Water Techniques
- Dead Drift Concept
- Mending
- Wet Fly Swing
10:30–12:00 – Fishing, Wrap Up, Return to Camp
